Buckner Named To Indiana University Board of Trustees

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana governor Mike Pence announced that former Indiana men's basketball player, Quinn Buckner, had been named to the Indiana University Board of Trustees on Friday (June 2). He will server a three-year term that will end June 30, 2019.
"Quinn Buckner is a business leader, philanthropist, Olympian and Hoosier basketball legend," said Governor Pence. "He epitomizes the Hoosier spirit and tradition that are synonymous with Indiana University and will do a tremendous job for IU."
Buckner is a longtime analyst for the Indiana Pacers' television games. In 2004, Buckner was named Vice President of Communications for Pacers Sports & Entertainment. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from Indiana University and won four Big Ten Basketball championships and was the captain of university's 1976 undefeated NCAA championship team. Buckner was the captain of the 1976 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic Basketball team. He is currently serving or has served on boards of various charities, including the Indiana University Foundation, Big Ten Advisors Council, Center for Leadership Development, Pacers Foundation, YMCA Community Health Network Foundation, USA Basketball, National Basketball Players Association, First Tee of Indianapolis, Indiana Youth Institute, Special Olympics of Indiana, Indianapolis Zoological Society, and Old National Bank Advisory Board.
