Sanjuan Claims Tournament Title In Spain

Ana Sanjuan, who will be a senior for the Hoosiers during the 2016-17 season, used a 5-under par round of 67 on Sunday to win the women's Championship of Asturias in northern Spain. Her total score of 205 (70-68-67) was 16 shots ahead of second place.
It marks the second straight year that Sanjuan has won the women's Championship of Asturias after claiming the crown last year by one stroke.
Sanjuan helped the Hoosiers to an NCAA Regional appearance in 2015-16, the first for IU since 2013. She posted a scoring average of 74.39 last year, which ranked second on the team and a total of five rounds under par. For her career, her scoring average stands at 75.58 with a low single round score of 67.
