Updated Day 2 Singles and Doubles Draws for ITA Summer Nationals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released the updated draws heading into the quarterfinals of the men's and women's singles tournament, which commenced Saturday on the Indiana University campus. Sunday's action was split between the Indiana University tennis facilities and the UIndy Tennis Center at the University of Indianapolis.
The tournament will pick up on Monday with the quarterfinals of the men's and women's singles tournaments and the beginning of both doubles tournaments. All matches will be played at the UIndy Tennis Center. Singles match play is expected to begin at 10:30 a.m., and the doubles tournament will commence at 12:00 p.m.

Indiana Men Advance to Quarterfinals
After two days of tense competition at the UIndy Tennis Center and IU Tennis center, two Hoosier remain on the path towards the championship. Indiana's Antonio Cembellin and Raheel Manji are two of the eight players who will seek advancement into the semifinals on Monday morning. Both quarterfinal matches will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Cembellin opened his tournament with an 8-5 win over Nathan Griffin (Notre Dame) after receiving a bye in the second round. The top-16 seed continued with a tight 8-6 win against Gabe Tishman (Michigan), and pushed into the quarterfinals after a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Dylan Bednarczyk (Nebraska). Monday's quarterfinal draw pits Cembellin against fourth-seeded Connor Curry (Texas Tech), who is coming off of a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (5) win against top-24 seed Josh Silverstein (Iowa).
Manji entered the tournament positioned as the second seed, and hasn't disappointed in his first three appearances. Manji began his tournament Sunday morning with an 8-4 win over Zach Fryer (Dayton), followed by an outright 8-2 win against Brady Anderson (Coe). Manji entered the final eight after a 6-2, 7-5 win over Jason Kerst (Iowa). Awaiting Manji in his quarterfinals match is T.J. Pura (Duke), who received one of the tournament's top 16 seeds.
Fellow Hoosiers Madison Appel and Alfonso Salgado reached the third round of their tournaments before making their exit. Appel secured an 8-0 win over Kamilia Czosnyka (MSHS) before falling to eighth-seeded Anastasia Rychagova (Kansas) in the third round. Salgado fell, 8-3, in the third round to top-16 Julian Childers (Illinois).
Hoosiers Return in Doubles Play
A number of Indiana tennis players are expected to re-enter the weekend in the men's and women's doubles tournament, which begin Monday morning. In total, nine Hoosiers will compete in five doubles teams starting at 12:00 p.m.
The women's bracket includes the doubles team of Madison Appel and Caitlin Bernard, two Hoosiers returning for their sophomore season this fall. They will face Brigitte Hodge (Wash. U) and Sophie Dixon (SHS) in the opening round. Newcomer Paulina Jahren will link up with Anne Marie Emme (Minnesota) to take on Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum and Anastasia Rychagova (Kansas).
Matt McCoy and William Piekarsky return to tournament play in their first round of doubles versus Kavir Kumar (UNC) and Jesse Sprinkel (Minnesota). Stefan Lugonjic and Alfonso Salgado will pair opposite of Alex Ested (HS) and Trey Keating (Wayne State).
In addition to their responsibilities in the quarterfinals, Manji and Cembellin will enter as the second seed in the men's doubles tournament. The duo awaits the winner of the first round match of Tony Leto and Jason Kerst (Iowa) versus Vaed Khurjekar (HS) and Maylin Van Cleef (CCDS).
