Hobbie Named the Prospect League Pitcher of the Year

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – With summer collegiate baseball leagues concluding, the Prospect League named Indiana pitcher Brian Hobbie its Pitcher of the Year. Hobbie spent this summer pitching for the Terre Haute Rex.
Hobbie, a right-hander from Springfiled, Ill., went 4-2 with a 0.82 ERA over eight starts and 12 appearances for Terre Haute this summer. He allowed just 36 hits over 54.2 innings, striking out 34 and walking only 11.
In his eight starts, Hobbie went at least seven innings four times for the summer, including a five-hit complete game shutout against Kokomo on July 6 and an eight-inning, three-hit blanking of Champion City on June 22.
