Countdown to Season Opener: Jazzmine McDonald

There are just five days until the Indiana Volleyball team opens the 2016 season on August 26 at home against Northern Kentucky. Today we get to know senior Jazzmine McDonald.

On the court
The best part about being an IU student-athlete is: Getting to compete with the best of the best in my sport and being given the opportunity to represent something bigger than myself.
What I like most about Coach Dunbar and the staff: They work day in and day out to make us the best team, players and individuals we can be.
I'm most looking forward to _______this season: Bringing some redemption back to our name and showing others what we truly are made of.
I choose my jersey number because: I was that number in high school so it kind of just stuck. I don't really have a cool story about it.
My pre-match superstitions: I always pray and that's about it!
My most memorable moment as a volleyball player: Playing overseas and beating China in the championship match of the European Global Challenge game because it was absolutely unbelievable and a hard fought battle.
This season will be a success if: We make it to the NCAA tournament.
Off the court
I first started played volleyball when I was: A freshman in high school.
My favorite activity outside of volleyball is: Journaling at Starbucks while listening to good music.
My most prizes possession is: All my medals, plaques and trophies from my accolades in high school from playing basketball, running track and playing volleyball.
My favorite game to play when I was in elementary school: Heads up seven up.
The one talent I wish I had: Anything with gymnastics. I absolutely adore the things that gymnasts are able to do.
Favorite food: Anything from La Cha (Mexican food)
If I didn't play volleyball I would play: High jump (Track & Field event)
My dream job is: Professional physical therapist for an NBA or MLB team.
One unique thing about me: I figure skated for 9 years!
The best movie I saw this summer was: Me Before You
Last concert I went to/favorite musical group or artist: Luke Bryan/I like so much music!
