Game Notes: Indiana vs. Michigan State

Setting The Scene
• Indiana (2-1) opens Big Ten play when it hosts No. 17/16 Michigan State (2-1, 0-1 Big Ten East) at Memorial Stadium (52,929; FieldTurf) on Saturday, Oct. 1. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. EDT and BTN will broadcast the game.
• The Old Brass Spittoon has been awarded to the IU-MSU winner since the trophy's inception in 1950.
• IU's staff and players will "go pink" in support of breast cancer awareness.
The Coaches
• Kevin Wilson is in his sixth season as Indiana head coach. Wilson led IU to the 2015 New Era Pinstripe Bowl, the program's first postseason appearance since 2007. He has mentored three first team All-Americans, 25 players who have either moved on to the NFL or received camp invites and a five-year program record 111 Academic All-Big Ten honorees. The offense has set 56 school records during his tenure.
• Mark Dantonio is 89-34 (.724) in his 10th season as Michigan State head coach. Dantonio served as Cincinnati's head coach from 2004-06 and carries an overall record of 107-51 (.677).

• The Hoosiers had 611 total yards, including a school record 496 passing yards vs. Wake Forest.
• Fifth-year senior Ricky Jones recorded the 6th 200-yard receiving game in school history against the Demon Deacons with a career-high in yards (208) and receptions (8).
• His 208 yards are 5th on Indiana's all-time list, 1st in the Big Ten and T-6th in the NCAA this season.
• Sophomore Nick Westbrook recorded his 2nd career 100-yard game, in succession, with 129 yards on six catches. He also scored twice, 75- and 10-yarders, for the second straight game.
