Setting The Scene
•Indiana (1-0) opens its 57th season at Memorial Stadium (52,929; FieldTurf) on Saturday, Sept. 10, hosting the Ball State Cardinals (1-0). Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. EDT and ESPNEWS will broadcast the game.
•The Hoosiers are 39-17 in Memorial Stadium openers. Indiana has victories in 13 of its last 14 and wins in 30 of its last 34 home starters.
•Kevin Wilson owns a 4-1 mark in his five home opening weekends with four straight victories.
•Indiana is 37-9-1 (.798) all-time against Mid-American Conference opponents.
•IU kicked off the 2016 season with a 34-13 victory at Florida International on Thursday, Sept. 1.
•BSU earned a 31-21 win at Georgia State in its 2016 debut.
The Coaches
•Kevin Wilson is in his sixth season as Indiana head coach. Wilson led IU to the 2015 New Era Pinstripe Bowl, the program's first postseason appearance since 2007. He has mentored three first team All-Americans, 23 players who have either moved on to the NFL or received camp invites and a five-year program record 111 Academic All-Big Ten honorees. The offense has set 54 school records during his tenure.
•Mike Neu is in his first season as Ball State head coach. Neu, a former BSU quarterback and the 1993 MAC Offensive Player of the Year, served as the New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach in 2014 and 2015.

•Indiana has won eight of its last nine regular season non-conference games, including seven consecutive.
•The last time the Hoosiers won seven straight came from 1992-95, when they won eight in a row.
•IU has won three straight road games, for the first time since 1982, by an average of 19.3 points.
•Indiana has won 13 of their last 14 season openers, including five of its six under Kevin Wilson.
•CB Rashard Fant and LB Tegray Scales each recorded pick-6s at Florida International.
•It is believed to be the first time in school history the Hoosiers collected two in a single game.
•The IU defense outscored FIU with its two pick-6s and one safety.
•CB Ben Bach added the team's third interception and the first of his career in the fourth quarter.
•Indiana limited the Panthers to 63 rushing yards and 331 total yards, the fewest in both categories since Indiana State rushed for 30 and gained 170 on Aug. 30, 2014.
•Devine Redding rushed for 135 yards, his fourth career 100-yard game, all in succession.
•Redding's four consecutive 100-yarders share the longest active stretch in the nation with LSU's Leonard Fournette and Tennessee's Jalen Hurd.
