INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Pacers announced Thursday they have former Hoosier and rookie guard Nick Zeisloft. Per team policy, terms of the contract will not be released. The LaGrange, Illinois native is the third member of the 2016 Big Ten Championship team to be on an NBA roster at the start of training camp joining guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell (Brooklyn Nets) and forward Troy Williams (Memphis Grizzlies).
"I am very excited and very blessed for the opportunity the Pacers have given me," Zeisloft said. "Thank you for everyone on their coaching staff and in their front office for making this a possibility. It's been a long road to get to this level and will take a lot more hard work to succeed here. Proud to be a Pacer!"
Over the last two years, Zeisloft was one of the top three-point shooters in the Big Ten making 43.5 percent of his long distance tries in 36 conference games and 43.2 percent in 66 career games. He led the Big Ten in 2015 in conference games only making 51.4 percent of his treys and was second overall at 45.0 percent.
"Without the coaching, developing and support that I received from Coach Crean I would not have had an opportunity to play professional basketball let alone sign an NBA contract," said Zeisloft. "He started helping me become the best man and basketball player I could ever be from the moment he started recruiting me a few years ago and continues to do so today!"
He was the team's top bench performer averaging 6.6 points as a junior and 6.5 points as a senior. He scored a career-high 19 points at Wisconsin and 17 at home against Michigan State. Last year he had 17 points against UNLV and a Big Ten-high 15 points at Minnesota.
Zeisloft played two seasons with the Hoosiers and earned a graduate degree from the Kelley School of Business.
