BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Former Indiana Football standouts Tevin Coleman (Atlanta Falcons) and Jason Spriggs will face off in the NFC Championship game next Sunday, Jan. 22, at 3:05 p.m. in the Georgia Dome. Coleman and the Falcons earned a 36-20 victory over Seattle on Saturday, while Spriggs and the Packers picked up a thrilling 34-31 win in Dallas on Sunday.
With Coleman and Spriggs advancing to the NFC Championship, it guarantees a second-straight year that a Hoosier alum will be playing in the Super Bowl. Last year, wide receiver Cody Latimer and the Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
In Saturday's win, Coleman ran for a team-high 57 yards on 11 carries (5.2 average) with a long for 15. The former All-American gave the Falcons a 19-10 lead with 53 seconds remaining in the first half on a 14-yard touchdown reception. He amassed over 900 yards of offense on the season and scored 11 touchdowns.
Spriggs saw significant time at the left tackle position in Sunday's win. During the regular season, Spriggs saw 238 snaps on offense and 78 snaps on special teams. He has appeared in all 18 of Green Bay's games this season.
