BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana Men's Tennis team will begin their 2017 dual match season tomorrow, January 21 in Hanover, N.H. with a double header at Dartmouth College. They will first take on the Bryant Bulldogs at 10am followed by the Dartmouth Big Green at 5pm.
It will be Bryant's third dual match of the season. They defeated Binghamton last week and will take on Dartmouth Friday evening before playing the Hoosiers Saturday morning.
Indiana will take on a talented Dartmouth team that finished ranked 41 in the country last year and made the NCAA team tournament. The last time these two teams squared off it was two years ago at Dartmouth. Matt McCoy secured the team win for the Hoosiers as the last match on to barely edge the Big Green by a score of 4-3.
The Hoosiers finished fifth in the Big Ten last year and look to improve upon that with the addition of seven total new players. Returners from last years' team include Matthew McCoy, Raheel Manji, Antonio Cembellin, Stefan Lugonjic, and Afonso Salgado.
"I'm really excited to open dual match play this weekend," IU Head Coach Jeremy Wurtzman said. "We have solid returners and excellent newcomers, who I am looking forward to seeing compete this weekend."
