Ferrell Signs 10-Day Contract With Dallas Mavericks

Former Indiana University men's basketball All-American Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell has signed a 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks. Ferrell played in 10 games earlier this season with the Brooklyn Nets and was signed off the roster of the Long Island Nets of the NBA D-League.
The Indianapolis native played in 10 games this season with the Nets, playing in 15.1 minutes per game off the bench. He averaged 5.4 points and 1.7 assists per game. Per 36 minutes, Ferrell averaged 12.9 points and 4.1 assists.
Ferrell played in 17 games in Long Island, starting all 17. He averaged 18.6 points and 5.8 assists per game in 35.5 minutes per game.
During his four-year career at Indiana, he scored 1,986 points - which ranks sixth in school history - and he also set the Indiana record for assists (633). He was named an All-American by numerous outlets after leading the Hoosiers to their second Big Ten title in his career in 2016 and guiding the team to an appearance in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. He was one of five finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, which is given annually to the nation's best point guard.
