Olamigoke, Drouin Competed at the IU Relays

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University track and field team hosted a pair of 2016 Rio Olympic game participants at the IU Relays this past weekend.
Derek Drouin, the 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist in the high jump, was the first field athlete with Indiana University ties to win Olympic Gold in 60 years. The Canadian superstar holds two indoor school records, the high jump (2.35m) and the heptathlon (5,817 points). Drouin won the Bowerman following his 2013 campaign. Drouin earned All-America distinctions in the high jump seven times, won seven Big Ten Championships, was a five-time NCAA champion, honored as Big Ten Athlete of the Year five times, three-time Athlete of the Big Ten Championships and was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
At the Indiana Relays Drouin competed in the heptathlon. The IU great finished second in the event. The meet marked his first competition in a handful of months. In his marquee event of the heptathlon, the high jump, he cleared 2.13m (6-11.75) off of a five-step approach.
Olu Olamigoke was a 2016 Olympian in the triple jump for Team Nigeria. Olu ranks ninth all-time in the triple jump at Indiana with a jump of 15.82m (51-11). While at Indiana, Olu was honored as an All-American twice, named Academic All-Big Ten twice and earned Big Ten Athlete of the week once.
At the IU Relays Olu competed in the triple jump. The IU All-American won the event with a jump of 15.98m (52-5.25).
