Eight Hoosiers Earn Midseason Honors from Top Drawer Soccer

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Eight members of the No. 1 Indiana University men's soccer team earned midseason honors from Top Drawer Soccer on Monday.
In the midseason player rankings, Grant Lillard was ranked the No. 3 upperclassman in the nation, while Andrew Gutman was ranked No. 74 and Timmy Mehl No. 82.
In the midseason rankings of freshmen across the nation, Indiana's Griffin Dorsey was ranked No. 2, while Mason Toye was ranked No. 12. Hoosier goalkeeper Trey Muse was ranked No. 22 in the country. Indiana was the only team in the country to have three freshmen ranked in the top-25. Redshirt freshman Spencer Glass was ranked No. 52, while Thomas Warr was ranked No. 57.
Lillard, Mehl and Gutman are three members of the Hoosier backline which has allowed just two goals all season and posted eight-straight shutouts. Gutman has scored five goals to go with two assists, while Mehl has netted three scores on the year. Lillard has totaled one goal and one assist so far this season.
As for the freshmen, Toye leads the Hoosiers with eight goals on the year with one assist, while Dorsey has scored twice and is tied for the team lead with five assists. In goal, Muse has been nothing short of spectacular, leading the NCAA in goals against average (0.138), save percentage (0.946) and shutouts (12). Glass has scored one goal to go with three assists, while Warr has totaled two goals with three assists.
The No. 1 Hoosiers will hit the road to play in-state rival and No. 16-ranked Butler on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Kickoff in Indianapolis is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
