Men’s Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2016-17 Indiana University men's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award on Thursday, the organization announced.
The Hoosier earned the distinction for the third-straight year and for the seventh time in program history. Indiana has received the award in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
A total of 813 soccer teams (282 men, 531 women) from throughout the United States have earned the Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2016-17 academic year. Indiana was among 195 schools receiving honors for both their men and women's teams.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point of average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
The No. 1-ranked Indiana Hoosiers will head east to face Big Ten rival Penn State on Saturday, Oct. 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET and the match will be streamed live on BTN Plus.
