Hoosiers Upset No. 32 Washington

SEATTLE – The No. 45 Indiana men's tennis team defeated the No. 32 Washington Huskies, 4-3 on Sunday afternoon inside the Nordstrom Tennis Center. IU beat a ranked Huskies team for the third straight season.
The Hoosiers (8-4) came away with the doubles point for the first time in the last four matches. Sophomore Afonso Salgado and junior Keivon Tabrizi won at three doubles, 6-1. Freshmen Zac Brodney and Bennett Crane improved to 6-4 with a 6-2 win at the second doubles spot to give IU their two doubles wins.
The Huskies rebounded quickly to take a 2-1 lead with a win at the No. 1 and No. 5 singles spot. Brodney and Crane used the momentum they gained at doubles and won their singles matches. Brodney won 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 6 and Crane won 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot.
Needing one more match win to clinch the victory, No. 125 Antonio Cembellin rose to the occasion and won 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the second singles spot.
Up next, IU host the Cornell Big Red on March 3 and the Purdue Boilermakers on March 5.
