BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer announced the 2017 spring schedule on Thursday as the Hoosiers will play five dates in the coming months, including a trio of games at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
"We're really looking forward to getting into competition this spring," said head coach Amy Berbary. "We use the spring season to not only build off of our fall schedule, but to continually improve both as individuals and collectively as a team as we work towards preparing for next fall."
Action will begin on Sunday, Feb. 26 as Indiana travels to the University of Illinois for a 7v7 tournament, marking the second straight season the team has participated in the event.
The Hoosiers return to action on March 31 by hosting Indiana State. The Sycamores are coming off a 7-11-2 season that saw them advance to the semi-finals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. IU holds the advantage in the all-time regular season series, 4-0.
On April 8, Indiana will play host to Miami (Ohio), who went 8-9-2 a year ago. The two teams have met twice in the regular season, with the Hoosiers owning a 2-0 series advantage.
The final home game of the spring slate will be an April 15 showdown with Illinois State. The Redbirds are coming off a season that saw them post an unbeaten streak of 15 games, the longest in program history. The streak came to an end after Illinois State fell to the Duke in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Redbirds won the MVC Tournament on the way to a 14-6-3 mark.
All three games at Bill Armstrong Stadium are open to the public and free of charge.
The Hoosiers will conclude spring play with a visit to Saint Louis on April 22 to face the Billikens. Saint Louis went 14-4-2 a season ago, while landing three on NSCAA All-Region teams. IU and Saint Louis have played three times in the regular season, splitting the series, 1-1-1.
