Hoosiers Add Stiles to Field Hockey Coaching Staff

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana field hockey head coach Amanda Janney announced the addition of Becky Stiles to her coaching staff. Stiles, a four-year standout for Michigan State, will become the Hoosiers' assistant coach with a focus on recruiting and coaching the midfield.
"Becky is an outstanding midfielder who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as someone who knows how to win in the Big Ten Conference," Janney said of the team's latest addition. "She is an upstanding role model for our student-athletes and I know she is going to strengthen our staff and help us continue to build on the successes of our last two years."
Janney also noted that Stiles brings a recruiting advantage to the state of New Jersey, one of the nation's field hockey hotbeds. Stiles was not only a prep level standout in the Garden State; she served as a volunteer coach for the Spirit of USA Field Hockey Club, located in South Jersey, and played for the New Jersey Women's High Performance Team in the USA Field Hockey system.
Stiles' involvement with USA Field Hockey continued at the junior national level. She entered the system during her prep years and continued through the High Performance system until she received a selection to the U-21 Women's National Team in 2012. Stiles played with Team USA in the 2012 Junior Pan American Games and helped the squad qualify for the Junior World Cup.
As a Big Ten field hockey player for the Spartans, Stiles was exceptional. She made 77 starts in her four-year career, scoring six goals with 10 assists from the midfield. Stiles was a three-time NFHCA All-West Region selection and an All-Big Ten honoree as a junior and senior. As a senior, Stiles led Michigan State on and off the turf as team captain, earning the Big Ten's Sportsmanship Award in the process.
Stiles collected two Academic All-Big Ten honors and made the Dean's List as an Economics student at Michigan State University. She graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and entered an internship with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia as a risk analyst. She continued her career with the Federal Reserve upon completion of the internship.
