Day One Of Big Ten Championships Complete For Indiana Women’s Golf

MAINEVILLE, Ohio – Sophomore Erin Harper's 77 led Indiana on day one of the Big Ten Championships at TPC River's Bend on Friday afternoon.
Harper, who is in a tie for 35th, turned in a 2-over performance on the opening nine holes, birding hole 18 before making the turn to play the front nine. She would go on to birdie two more holes in the front, holes two and six, with bogeys on three holes to sit plus three and 5-over for the day.
Senior Ana Sanjuan came in three strokes behind Harper, shooting an 80 with 4-over performances in the front and back nine. Senior Theresa-Ann Jedra is also in a tie for 58th with Sanjuan, shooting an 80 with two birdies.
Junior Alix Kong (T-62nd) is one stroke back of Sanjuan and Jedra carding an 81 with a pair of birdies and eight holes at par. Freshman Elisa Pierre (T-78) added an 85 while redshirt freshman Carolina Garrett (82) finished the day with an 89 to round out IU's lineup.
As a team, Indiana shot a 318 and sit just seven strokes out of tenth place overall. Northwestern leads the field followed by Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State to round out the top five.
Round two is set with tee times on hole 10 beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET.
