Harper Leads Indiana On Final Day Of Big Ten Championships

MAINEVILLE, Ohio – The 2016-17 Indiana Women's Golf season came to a conclusion on Sunday afternoon as play wrapped up in the Big Ten Championships at TPC River's Bend.
Sophomore Erin Harper notched a 76 in the final round to lead IU on the day and in the tournament with a tied for 25th place finish by scoring 228 overall (+12). Her final round was highlighted by an eagle on hole 8 and four birdies.
Junior Alix Kong came in next for the Hoosiers, as she shot an 82 to round out play with a 238 in tied for 55th overall as she had 10 pars and a birdie on the afternoon.
It also marked the end of the careers for seniors Ana Sanjuan and Theresa-Ann Jedra. Sanjuan wrapped up play with a 79 and finished tied for 65th overall with a 242 while Jedra carded an 86 and 249 overall finishing tied for 74th.
Competing in their first Big Ten Championships, redshirt freshman Carolina Garrett finished 76th overall with a 250 (89-78-83) and freshman Elisa Pierre was tied for 77th (85-80-86) with a 251.
The Hoosiers finished up play with a 320 on Sunday, rounding out a 54-hole score of 946 and in 13th place overall. Michigan State (+2) were crowned the league champions while Northwestern finished runner-up followed by Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan, respectively.
