BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University men's soccer team will wrap up the spring season on Sunday afternoon when the Hoosiers host the Mexico U-18 National Team at 2:00 p.m. ET at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Tickets for the highly-anticipated match are $10 for adults and $5 for IU students and youth. They can be purchased online at IUHoosiers.com or at the gate.
"This game is a great opportunity for our players to match up against some of the best young players in the world," Indiana head coach Todd Yeagley said. "The ability to measure up individually and collectively against the quality and skill from Mexico will be a tremendous help as we build our team for the fall season."
On Friday, the Mexico U-18 National Team dropped a 5-0 decision to Notre Dame in South Bend. Last year, Indiana defeated the Mexico U-20 National Team in Bloomington, 2-0, on goals from Phil Fives and Richard Ballard.
The match against the Mexico U-18 National Team will bring a close to a very successful spring season for the Hoosiers. With a 3-1 victory over Cincinnati in Westfield, Ind. on April 21, Indiana improved to 6-0 in the spring. Along with a win over Bearcats, IU has also earned victories over Notre Dame, Valparaiso, Evansville, Xavier and USL pro-side Swope Park Rangers.
"This event is not only a highlight for our players but also for our fans and community to enjoy an international soccer match at Armstrong stadium," remarked Yeagley. "Over the years, this match has become a premier sporting event on our campus."
