Indiana Women’s Golf Releases 2017-18 Schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Golf has announced its fall and spring slate for the 2017-18 season.
"I am really excited about the schedule we've put together for the 2017-18 season, which gives us a variety of challenges in different environments throughout the fall and the spring," Indiana head coach Clint Wallman said. "We are turning a great core group with a lot of experience from last season along with promising newcomers. We are looking forward to getting out on the course again and competing in the Big Ten as well as a postseason appearance."
The slate features nine regular season tournaments – four in the fall and five in the spring - when it opens up on Sept. 17-18 at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. hosted by Colorado State. They will remain west of the Mississippi for the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho (Sept. 26-27) hosted by Gonzaga before returning to the Midwest to open October.
The Hoosiers will begin the month by co-hosting the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational with Kentucky in Lexington (Oct. 6-8) followed by the final weekend of the fall season at the Ladies Fall Intercollegiate Invitational (Oct. 27-29) hosted by Louisville in Johns Creek, Georgia.
The spring lineup features three tournaments the Hoosiers took part in last year as it kicks off on Feb. 25-26 at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz. hosted by Wisconsin. IU will play three times in March as it goes to California for the first time since 2014-15 when it takes part in the Fresno State Classic (March 5-6). The team makes a return trip to the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational hosted by Iowa during the team's spring break (March 16-18).
Closing out the month, the Hoosiers take part in the Clemson Invitational (March 23-25) and get one final tune-up at the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio (April 14-15) in prep for the Big Ten Championships (April 20-22) in Maineville, Ohio at TPC River's Bend.
Indiana will look to get back into the NCAA Regionals are set for May 7-9 with host sites in Palo Alto, Calif., Madison, Wisc., Tallahassee, Fla. and Austin, Texas with the NCAA Championships to take place on May 18-23 at the Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Wallman will begin his 14th season at the helm of the program and return junior Erin Harper who led the team in stroke average with a 75.00 in 2016-17. Seniors Alix Kong and Pear Siriko will enter their final seasons and will be supported by multiple round players from a season ago in sophomores Emma Fisher, Elisa Pierre and Carolina Garrett.
