Blackmon finished his Indiana career averaging 16.3 points in 76 career games. He made 75 starts and finished 33rd all-time in career scoring with 1,235 points and fourth overall in three-point field goals made with 205. He was a two-time All-Big Ten performer who earned NBCSports.com National Player of the Week and Big Ten Player of the Week after leading IU with 26 points in a season-opening win over Kansas in the Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu to open the 2016-17 season. He also had 14 points and nine rebounds in a win against eventual national champion North Carolina and he hit a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer at Penn State. His 91 three-point field goals this past year was the second most for a single year in IU history.
Congrats to @JBlackmon2 on signing a contract with the @sixers! Do work, JB! ??

The Marion native led the Hoosiers and ranked fourth in the conference by scoring at a 17.0 points per game clip during his junior year. He also shot 42.3 percent from the three-point line to finish sixth in the league and 83.3 percent at the free throw line (40-of-48) to rank fifth. In conference play, Blackmon posted five games scoring 20-plus points, led by a 33-point outburst in the win against Michigan State.
Blackmon hopes to be the third Hoosier in the last two years to earn a full-time spot in the NBA as an undrafted free agent. Former teammates Kevin Yogi Ferrell (Dallas Mavericks) and Troy Williams (Houston Rockets) both signed guaranteed contracts this past season. They join OG Anunoby (Toronto Raptors), Thomas Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers), Noah Vonleh (Portland Trailblazers), Cody Zeller (Charlotte Hornets), Victor Oladipo (Indiana Pacers) and Eric Gordon (Houston Rockets) as former Hoosiers currently on NBA rosters.
