
Game Notes: Indiana and Minnesota Set for Friday Night

Setting The Scene
•Indiana (4-4, 1-4 B1G East) heads to Minneapolis for the first time since 2008 to face Minnesota (3-4, 0-4 B1G West) on Friday, Oct. 26. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CDT/8 p.m. EDT at TCF Bank Stadium (50,805; Field Turf) on FS1.
•The Hoosiers are making their inaugural visit to TCF Bank Stadium.
•IU last played on a Friday night on Sept. 2, 2005, a 20-13 victory at Central Michigan in the late Terry Hoeppner's head-coaching debut.
•The Golden Gophers hold a 38-26-3 edge in the all-time series, including a 42-39 victory in Bloomington the last time the two teams met on Nov. 2, 2013.
•This is just the second meeting between the two programs since 2008.
The Coaches
•Tom Allen was named Indiana's head coach on Dec. 1, 2016, and made his debut at the 2016 Foster Farms Bowl. The New Castle, Ind., native joined IU as associate head coach/defense on Jan. 15, 2016. Over his first two years, the Hoosiers were the most improved nationally in total defense and passing defense, the sixth-most improved in third down defense and the ninth-most improved in points per game allowed.
•P.J. Fleck is 8-11 (.421) in his second season at Minnesota. Fleck served as Western Michigan head coach (2013-16) and carries an overall record of 38-33 (.535).

•The 554 yards were the most allowed by PSU since the 2017 Rose Bowl (575, USC).
