BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer redshirt senior Mykayla Brown was named Third Team All-Big Ten, the conference office announced on Friday. In addition, senior Justine Lynn was named Indiana's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner.
It marks the first All-Conference honor for Brown, who has previously been twice named to the Big Ten Preseason Honors List. The Indianapolis native finished her Indiana career with 18 goals, tied for seventh-most in program history. Brown shined during conference action as her 11 career goals in Big Ten play is second all-time in program history. This season, Brown netted six goals, including five in Indiana's 11 Big Ten games, which is the second-most in a single conference season in IU history. Brown started every game of the 2018 campaign and wrapped up her Indiana career with 76 games played and 57 starts.
Lynn, a native of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., earns the Sportsmanship accolade after starting every game of the 2018 season on the Hoosier backline. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a 2017-18 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Lynn played in 65 games in her IU career, making 47 starts.
The 14 student-athletes chosen as Sportsmanship honorees are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These students must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
