Hoosiers Capture 3-1 Victory at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Indiana volleyball team picked up a 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 27-25, 25-12) win at Rutgers on Saturday.
Key Moments
• Rutgers jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the first set. At 17-14 in the first set, the Hoosiers used a 5-0 run to go up 19-17.
• Rutgers went on an 6-0 run to capture a 23-19 lead and won the first set, 25-21.
• Indiana scored eight of the first 10 points in set two to get out to an 8-2 lead. Kamryn Malloy had back-to-back service aces for the Hoosiers.
• Indiana went up 20-10 on a Rutgers service error and won the second set, 25-17.
• The Hoosiers used an 11-4 run in the third set to go up 20-16
• At 25-25 in the third set, Indiana got back-to-back kills from Breana Edwards and Lexi Johnson to take the set, 27-25.
• Indiana carried the momentum from set three into the fourth set as they scored the first 13 points of set four and led 17-2. The Hoosiers won the fourth set 25-12.

• With the win, the Hoosiers improve to 14-9 overall and 5-7 in the Big Ten. Rutgers drops to 6-19 overall and 0-12 in the Big Ten.
• With 16.5 blocks in the match Indiana has registered 10 or more blocks in 13 matches this season.
• Freshman Breana Edwards moved into third in the IU all-time records for solo blocks for a freshman. She now has 21.
• The third set had 11 ties and three lead changes.
• Sophomore libero Bayli Lebo recorded 19 digs for her 16th match of the season with double-digit digs.
• With her six aces in the match, Kamryn Malloy tied for the second most for a four-set match in program history. Indiana had eight aces for the match.
• Freshman Lexi Johnson had a season-high 10 kills.
