Rennicks’ Golden Goal Leads No. 2 Hoosiers Past No. 12 Michigan State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team defeated the No. 12 Michigan State Spartans, 1-0, in overtime on Sunday afternoon at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.
KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Justin Rennicks scored the golden goal for Indiana (15-2, 8-0 Big Ten) in the 98th minute, finishing off a rebound off a shot from Andrew Gutman. The effort from Gutman was saved by the Michigan State (10-3-4, 4-2-2) goalkeeper, but the ball came right to the foot of Rennicks.
• In the 78th minute, IU goalie Trey Muse made a great save on a MSU header to keep the Spartans off the board. Muse recorded his Big Ten-leading eighth solo shutout of the season and the team's 11th of the year.

• Indiana, the 2018 Big Ten regular season champions, are the first team to go 8-0 in conference play in the history of the league. IU is the first team since Penn State (6-0) in 2005 to go undefeated in the Big Ten.
• The undefeated and untied mark in league play is the first for Indiana since going 6-0 in 2002.
• The Hoosiers are unbeaten in the team's last 36 matches against Big Ten opponents, posting a record of 23-0-13. Indiana's last loss to a league foe was at Ohio State on Oct. 10, 2015.
• Indiana will be the No. 1 seed for the Big Ten Tournament and will host a quarterfinal match on Sunday, Nov. 4 at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium. • With the victory over Michigan State, the Hoosiers improve to 20-0-2 in the team's last 22 matches at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
• IU has won six-straight matches. In that streak, IU has posted five shutouts and has out-scored the team's opponents, 9-1.
