BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University freshman Romeo Langford has been named Preseason All-American by three news outlets. ESPN.com and CBSSports.com put him on their third team, while WatchStadium.com made him a fourth team choice. He is the first Hoosier to earn Preseason All-American honors since Thomas Bryant in 2016.
Langford, a 6-6 guard from New Albany, is the 27th former Indiana Mr. Basketball and 21st former McDonald's All-American to wear the Cream and Crimson. He ranked fourth all-time in Indiana High School basketball history scoring 3,002 points and averaged 28.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in his four seasons as a prep. A two-time prep All-American, Langford was ranked the No. 5 player in the Class of 2018 by ESPN and 247 Sports.
The Hoosiers will have an exhibition game on Thursday night against Southern Indiana and open the regular season in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on November 6 against Chicago State.
