Hoosiers Continue Fall Play in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Indiana Softball traveled to Evansville over the weekend, earning a victory against Southern Indiana and splitting a doubleheader with Evansville.
Against Southern Indiana on Friday, the Hoosiers shutout the Screaming Eagles, 4-0. Evansville native Emily Goodin tossed the complete game shutout, surrendering just two hits. At the plate, sophomore Taylor Lambert led the way offensively with a 2-for-4 outing and two runs scored. Freshman Paige Chitwood scored Indiana's other two runs. Sophomore Grayson Radcliffe also had a productive day as she collected a pair of hits and an RBI.
On Saturday, Evansville earned a 4-3 victory in the first game of the day. The Purple Aces jumped to a 2-0 first-inning lead and held on for the win. IU sophomore Annika Baez went 2-for-4, including a solo home run. Lambert again had an impressive outing as she went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
The Hoosiers earned a 10-1 victory in the final game of the twin-billing. Junior Bella Norton collected three hits and an RBI, while Lambert stayed hot with two hits, a run and an RBI. Baez turned in another multi-hit performance, while also scoring twice and adding an RBI. Also turning in multi-hit efforts were sophomore Maddie Westmoreland and senior Sarah Galovich. Chitwood scored three runs for the Hoosiers.
IU closes out fall play this Friday as the Hoosiers play host to John A. Logan College for a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. and admission is free.
