Game Notes: Indiana Hosts Iowa on Homecoming

Setting The Scene
•Indiana (4-2, 1-2 B1G East) welcomes RV/RV Iowa (4-1, 1-1 B1G West) for IU's 106th Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 13. Kickoff is set for noon EDT at Memorial Stadium (52,656; FieldTurf) on ESPN2.
•The Hoosiers own a 44-55-6 record on Homecoming.
•Indiana will host UI for the 18th time on Homecoming and the first time since 1998, a 14-7 victory on Oct. 17.
•The Hawkeyes hold a 9-7-1 edge in the previous 17 meetings.
•Iowa holds a 44-28-4 advantage in the all-time series and a 20-18-1 lead in Bloomington.
•IU is 6-3 over its last nine games, including a 3-1 home mark.

The Coaches
•Tom Allen was named Indiana's head coach on Dec. 1, 2016, and made his debut at the 2016 Foster Farms Bowl. The New Castle, Ind., native joined IU as associate head coach/defense on Jan. 15, 2016. Over his first two years, the Hoosiers were the most improved nationally in total defense and passing defense, the sixth-most improved in third down defense and the ninth-most improved in points per game allowed.
•Kirk Ferentz is 147-98 (.600) in his 20th season at Iowa. He is the school's all-time winningest coach and sits fifth in Big Ten history. Ferentz served as Maine's head coach (1990-92) and owns a 159-119 (.572) career record.
