No. 2 Indiana Wins Big Ten Tournament Title with 3-0 Victory over Michigan

WESTFIELD, Ind. – The No. 2 Indiana University men's soccer team defeated the Michigan Wolverines, 3-0, to win the Big Ten Tournament championship on Sunday afternoon at Grand Park.
The Big Ten Tournament title is the 13th in program history for Indiana (17-2-1) and the first for the team since 2013. The Hoosiers won both the tournament and regular season championships in the same season for the first time since 2006.
KEY MOMENTS
• In the seventh minute, the Hoosiers jumped out to an early lead over the Wolverines (12-5-2). Griffin Dorsey fired a shot from the right side that was saved on a dive, but the rebound fell to Cory Thomas at the back post, who tapped it in from two-yards out to give IU the 1-0 lead.
• Jeremiah Gutjahr netted his second career goal in the 73rd minute, doubling the Hoosier lead. Off a great cross from Dorsey, Gutjahr buried the header from five-yards out.
• Just two minutes later, Spencer Glass gave Indiana its winning margin of 3-0, flicking home a goal from the near post after a great ball in from Austin Panchot.
• IU goalkeeper Trey Muse made one save, registering his Big Ten-leading ninth solo shutout of the season.
NOTABLES
• Cory Thomas was named Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the Tournament, while Andrew Gutman was named Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Tournament. Francesco Moore joined both on the All-Big Ten Tournament Team.
• The Hoosiers are unbeaten in the team's last 39 matches against Big Ten opponents, posting a record of 25-0-14. Indiana's last loss to a league foe was at Ohio State on Oct. 10, 2015.
• IU is unbeaten in the team's last nine matches. In that streak, IU has posted six shutouts and has out-scored the team's opponents, 15-3.
• With the victory, Indiana's record in Big Ten Tournament matches moves to 36-10-10.
