BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team came back from down 0-2 to force a fifth set, but came up short in five sets against No. 12 Purdue (23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 10-15) on Wednesday at University Gym.

"It was a great match. Unfortunate we were on the other side of the fifth game. I was super proud of the kids for competing and not rolling over after the first two games. Full credit to Purdue. I thought they played hard first whistle to last whistle. Sherridan (Atkinson) did some pretty special things, especially from the end line. I thought she really effected the match that way. I think the whole program is really hurt and that's a good thing.
"That is a great sign that our team and our program is so upset that we didn't get it done. That is another big step forward in caring and believing. Proud of the program. Proud of the fight. We went five with Purdue twice this year and didn't quite have enough at the end and part of that is full credit to them. I thought Purdue played great when they had to and made plays down the stretch. We will celebrate our two seniors and their contributions to the program and get ready for a tough Northwestern team on the road on Friday night."
