BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University men's soccer coaching staff was named the Men's North Region Staff of the Year for Division I Institutions, United Soccer Coaches announced on Friday.
The Hoosier staff of head coach Todd Yeagley, assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Kevin Robson assistant coach Danny O'Rourke, volunteer assistant coach Zac Brown and undergraduate assistant coach Christian Lomeli earned the recognition as a result of a vote by other coaches in the North region who are also members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services program.
The Hoosier coaches will now be placed onto the National Staff of the Year ballot and will be recognized at the College Coaches Awards Reception on Jan. 10, 2019 at the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago.
Under the guidance of the staff, the No. 1-ranked and No. 2-seeded Hoosiers enter the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 19-2-1 on the season.
For the second time in his career (2010), Yeagley was named Big Ten Coach of the Year. Yeagley and the staff helped guide the Hoosiers to the first 8-0 record in conference history and the 15th regular season championship in program history.
The No. 1-ranked Indiana Hoosiers will host the No. 13 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:00 p.m. ET in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth (18 & under) and can be purchased at IUHoosiers.com. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online to avoid game day lines. Reminder that there are no service fees for tickets purchased at IUHoosiers.com.
