
Morgan, Langford Named to Naismith Trophy Watch List

Atlanta, Georgia – Indiana University senior Juwan Morgan and freshman Romeo Langford were named to the 50-member 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy Watch List awarded annually to college basketball's player of the year. The honor is presented by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
A list of the midseason 30 team will be released on Feb. 13, 2019, followed by the 10 national semifinalists and four finalists on March 4, 2019 and March 19, 2019 respectively. The 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy will be awarded on at the Naismith Awards Brunch on April 7, 2019, during the Final Four in Minneapolis.

Morgan, a 6-8 forward from Waynesville, Mo., is in his fourth year with the Hoosiers and earned All-Big Ten and All-District honors as a junior. He improved his overall scoring by 8.8 points and his Big Ten output by 10.6 points and started 30 games. He averaged 16.5 points overall and 7.4 rebounds. He needs 170 points to become the 52nd player in IU history to reach the 1,000-point mark in their career. He also is on the Karl Malone Watch List given to the top power forward each college basketball season and earned Preseason All-Big Ten honors.
Langford, a 6-6 guard from New Albany, is the 27th former Indiana Mr. Basketball and 21st former McDonald's All-American to wear the Cream and Crimson. He ranked fourth all-time in Indiana High School basketball history scoring 3,002 points and averaged 28.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in his four seasons as a prep. A two-time prep All-American, Langford was ranked the No. 5 player in the Class of 2018 by ESPN and 247 Sports. Langford was named third-team Preseason All-American by ESPN.com and CBSSports.com and earned fourth-team honors from WatchStadium.com. A preseason All-Big Ten pick, he also is on the Jerry West Award Watch list awarded to the top shooting guard in the country.
