BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana football team takes on Maryland after its bye week on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for noon ET on BTN.
Each week we will compile five quotes and storylines recapping the previous game and previewing the upcoming one.
Tom Allen
"Really a productive last several days with our team before we gave them some time off. Practiced Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday of last week, then gave them Thursday, Friday, Saturday off. Got them back on campus yesterday (Sunday). A chance for some kids to go home if they could, get a physical, mental, emotional break for our guys. Thought it was very important for them to do that.
"Got a lot of good recruiting in with our staff. Sent coaches out on Wednesday as well as our whole staff on Thursday and Friday, myself included. Able to cover a lot of ground, a lot of important areas hit in state and out of state, able to move on from there."
OC Mike DeBord
"The guys up front and a lot of those receivers, we got to rest. We let Reese (Taylor) get all the quarterback snaps and that rest helped Peyton (Ramsey). It's been a long grind and we've had nine weeks of games and then you add training camp onto that, so you know this rest was needed for some of those guys and I really think it benefited us."
QB Peyton Ramsey
"I think we are at our best when we are balanced. I think we can run the ball and we can throw the ball, because when you can do both of those it's hard to game plan for us. Stevie's done a really good job these last couple weeks before the bye and we've been throwing the ball pretty well, so I think we're at our best when we're balanced."
RB Stevie Scott
"I definitely feel good. That bye week definitely helped us as a team, getting our bodies straight and just recuperating as a team, just to come together and let us know that these last three games are very crucial and very big for us."
DB Raheem Layne
"I'm just trying my best to make plays. That's kind of what I wanted to focus on from last year, I just want to swarm around the ball, more plays I can make. I just love trying to just do as much as I can do to help us win."
