Indiana Welcomes Utah Transfer Quarterback Jack Tuttle

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana head football coach Tom Allen announced today that quarterback Jack Tuttle, a 6-4, 207-pound transfer from the University of Utah, has signed his Big Ten tender of financial aid and will join the program for the 2019 spring semester. The San Marcos, Calif., native and Mission Hills High School graduate did not see any action with the Utes as a true freshman in 2018.
A four-star prospect by Rivals and 247Sports, Tuttle garnered a place in the 2017 Elite 11 Finals in addition to The Opening. He was ranked the No. 4 pro-style quarterback nationally by Rivals, the No. 5 pro-style quarterback nationally by 247Sports and the No. 13 player in California by 247Sports.
"Jack Tuttle is a tremendous addition to our program and we are happy to welcome him to IU," Allen said. "He is extremely talented and brings a huge skillset to our quarterback room. We look forward to his arrival on campus next semester and his development as a Hoosier."
As a senior, Tuttle collected San Diego Section Player of the Year honors and first team All-CIF. He won the Silver Pigskin Award, presented to San Diego County's most outstanding high school football player.
Tuttle guided Mission Hills to a 12-1 record, with its lone loss coming in the San Diego Section Open Division title game. He completed 205-of-295 (69.5 percent) for 3,171 yards with 41 touchdowns and just four interceptions, and rushed for 207 yards and a pair of TDs in his final campaign.
A member of the National Honor Society and the Union Tribune All-Academic team, Tuttle was born in Indianapolis. His father, Jay, was a walk-on kicker with the Hoosiers (1986-89) and his mother, Kathy, is an Indiana State University graduate.
