BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer redshirt senior Annelie Leitner has signed a professional contract to play for Hwacheon KSPO WFC. Leitner will graduate from Indiana this December and join the team for training in January.
Hwacheon KSPO competes in the WK League and begins the season in March.
"I am very excited to continue my soccer career in Korea with KSPO and am proud to be part of Upper V Athlete Management," said Leitner. "I want to thank Indiana University and the IU women's soccer program for preparing me for this next chapter and being able to live my dream. This is something that I dreamed of when I was a little girl and I am blessed and filled with excitement."
Leitner, a native of Salzburg, Austria, finished her IU career by playing in 74 games with 49 starts, including every game of the 2018 season. Her final campaign this fall saw her put up career numbers, as she scored four goals and added three assists. Three of her 2018 goals were game-winners for the Hoosiers.
A four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Leitner was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 4 after scoring a pair of game-winning goals against Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount.
