Andrew Miller Sets Another School Record In The Weight Throw

South Bend, Ind. – Senior Andrew Miller breaks the weight throw school record at the Alex Wilson Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Olympia, Wash. native crushed the school record by two feet with his second throw of the afternoon with the mark of 22.10m (72'6.25"). Miller's mark landed him the No. 9 spot in the NCAA and the fourth best mark in the Big Ten. He previously held the record from his performance at the Gladstein Invitational 21.50m (70'6").
Also in the field, freshman Maddie Pollard finished fifth overall in the women's shot put with the mark of 15.25m (50'0.5") and sophomore Khayla Dawson took ninth with the mark of 13.51m (44'4"). Redshirt junior Ashley Hash finished fourth overall in the women's high jump with the mark of 1.59m (5'2.5").
On the track the men's and women's DMR teams both had strong performances. The men's team consisting of redshirt freshman Teddy Browning, freshman Zubin Muncherji, senior Daniel Kuhn and redshirt sophomore Kyle Mau took fourth with the time of 9:28.62. This time is the fastest time in the Big Ten and earned the time the No. 5 sport in the NCAA.
Browning finished his 1200m in 2:54.0, which is a new indoor personal record in the relay carry. Browning passed the baton on to Muncherji who powered through the 400m in just 46.9, which is also a new indoor personal record in the relay carry. Next up was Kuhn who finished his 800m section in 1:47.8 and handed the baton off to Mau who closed out the race for the Hoosiers finishing his 1600m in 3:59.4.
On the women's side senior Brenna Calder started the Hoosiers off by finishing her 1200m in 3:22.9 and passing the baton to freshman Natalie Price who finished her 400m dash in 53.2. Price handed the baton to junior Kelsey Harris who made it through her 800m leg in 2:07.4 passing the baton to redshirt junior Katherine Receveur who closed out the race. Receveur bolted through her 1600m leg in 4:36.9.
The women's DMR team finished second overall with the time of 11:00.77. This time earned the team the fastest time in the Big Ten and the No. 4 spot in the NCAA. Redshirt junior Jordan Huntoon finished third overall in the men's 800m dash with the time of 1:50.77.
