BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer redshirt junior Annelie Leitner has been selected to participate in the 2018 Cyprus Cup with the full Austrian Women's National Team, marking her second straight year in the event.
"For Annelie to be called in for a second time is a great honor," said head coach Amy Berbary. "Her tireless work ethic and dedication to improve her game has truly paid off as she gets to play at the highest level. We're so proud of her and are excited to see her compete."
Competition in the Cyprus Cup kicks off this Wednesday and concludes March 7. The event features 12 countries divided into three playing groups.
Last year's Cyprus Cup marked Leitner's first stint with the full national team, but the Salzburg native has also competed with the U-19 and U-17 squads.
As a member of the U-17 National Team, Leitner scored three goals in eight games. Most recently, she competed in the 2015 European Qualifiers with the U-19s, scoring a pair of goals in two games.
A three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Leitner has played in 57 games with Indiana, including every game of the 2017 season. Leitner scored two goals in the fall and added an assist.
