Hoosiers Travel to Michigan State, Host Minnesota

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team will play its third straight Big Ten match on the road as they travel to Michigan State for a match on Friday March 23 at 6:00 p.m. ET. The Hoosiers will host their home opener on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. against Minnesota.
The Hoosiers (12-5, 0-2 Big Ten) started Big Ten play against a pair of top-10 teams with a combined record of 23-5 in No. 6 Illinois and Big Ten leader and No. 5 ranked Northwestern.
In the match against Northwestern, junior Natalie Whalen won a singles match against the No. 85 ranked player in the country.
Following the match against Michigan State, the Hoosiers being a stretch of six Big Ten matches at home.
IU head coach Ramiro Azcui said he believes the hard start to Big Ten play will prepare his team well for what is ahead.
The Spartans are 10-4 overall with a 1-1 record in Big Ten play. Michigan State has a win against Nebraska a fell 4-3 against Iowa in their most recent match.
Minnesota has posted an overall record of 11-6. They are 3-0 in Big Ten play with wins over Wisconsin, Maryland and Rutgers.
