
Hoosiers Set Personal Records at Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After two days in Gainesville, Fla. at the Florida Invitational the Hoosiers have a total of seven personal records and one personal collegiate personal best time.
In the field, sophomore Leah Moran crushed her personal record when she finished second overall in the women's long jump. The Stillwater, NY native earned her PR of 6.04m (19' 9.75") on her final jump of the evening. Junior Aaliyah Armstead finished third with the mark of 5.91m (19' 4.75") and Jenna Jungels took fifth with the mark of 5.85m (19' 2.50").
On the track, senior Kendell Wiles shredded two seconds off of her 800m when she finished eighth overall and was the sixth collegiate to cross the finish line with the time of 2:05.44. Wiles now has the fifth fastest time in school history. As of now she also has the No. 7 time in the nation, No. 1 time in the East region on the NCAA and the No. 1 time in the Big Ten. Redshirt freshman Joely Pinkston finished right on her personal record of 2:09.09.
In the 400m, freshman Natalie Price ran her collegiate best time of 53.36, which earned her a tenth place finish. Price now has the fourth fastest time in Hoosier history. She is the first athlete to make it on the top-10 list since Molly Beckwith did so in 2009 with the time of 54.13. In the 400m hurdles, freshman Zykeria Williams ran a new personal record of 1:04.52.
Junior Kelsey Harris took over ten seconds off of her 1,500m time when she won the second heat with the time of 4:26.19, which earned her a 13th place finish. On the men's side sophomore Cooper Williams won the third heat of the 1,500m with a personal record of 3:47.79. Williams shed about five seconds off of his previous PR, which earned him a 15th place finish overall and the 11th collegiate to cross the finish line.
Friday night was the season debut for the women's 3,000m steeplechase featuring junior Haley Harris, redshirt freshman Lexa Barrott and redshirt freshman Hannah Stoffel. Harris ran a personal best time of 10:24.81, which takes about four seconds off of her time that earned her an eighth place finish at the Big Ten Championships last year (10:28.61). Barrott finished fifth overall but she was the third collegiate to cross the finish line with the time of 10:33.76. Stoffel took eighth, sixth collegiate, with the time of 10:40.63.
The Hoosiers will be back in action Saturday, March 31 at 12:00 pm ET with the men's high jump. Live results for Saturday's competition will be available here.
