Game 1 – San Diego 6, Indiana 5
Indiana's comeback bid fell just short as the Hoosiers dropped the first contest, 6-5, on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Logan Sowers tallied his second three-hit game of the season, while junior Luke Miller and sophomore Matt Gorski each added two-hit performances. Junior Matt Lloyd knocked in two RBI to lead the Hoosiers, with Miller, Gorski and freshman Elijah Dunham accounting for Indiana's other three runs.

San Diego set itself up with a three-spot in the top of the first. Indiana struggled to manufacture anything until the fourth inning when Gorski's triple to right center scored Dunham, who reached on a fielder's choice following Sowers leadoff single.
Indiana's pitching was able to silence the Toreros until the fifth inning, when San Diego added three more runs for a 6-1 lead. Following two RBI singles and a sacrifice fly, Saalfrank entered the game and picked up a swinging strikeout that stranded two runners.
The Hoosiers slowly began chipping away at its deficit with one run in the sixth. Sowers led off with a single down the left field line and scored on Dunham's RBI single to right field. From there, Miller knocked a solo home run to left center field to bring Indiana within three, 6-3.
An eventful ninth inning saw Indiana nearly pull off its comeback bid. Fineman singled with one out and advanced to second on freshman Drew Ashley's pinch hit single to right field for his first collegiate hit. Down to the team's final out, junior Logan Kaletha got hit to load the bases. Lloyd launched a pitch to left center field for a double, which scored two. On the relay, Kaletha was thrown out at the plate to end the game.
