DMR Teams Earn All-American Honors, Kuhn Advances to Finals at NCAA Indoor Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The men's and women's distance medley relay (DMR) teams earned first team All-American honors. Daniel Kuhn earned a spot in the finals of the 800m run.
The women's team consisting of senior Brenna Calder, freshman Natalie Price, junior Kelsey Harris and redshirt junior Katherine Receveur finished fourth in the DMR with the time was 10:54.93, making them the first team in Hoosier history to earn first team All-American honors.
Calder started the race and set the Hoosiers up in sixth place after completing her 1200m leg in 3:21.56. She passed the baton to Price who got through her 400m leg in 53.52, getting the Hoosiers into fifth place when she handed the baton to Kelsey Harris for the 800m leg. Harris kept a steady pace until her last lap when she passed Boise State to move the Hoosiers into fourth place. She handed off to Receveur with the fastest 800m split of 2:03.81. Receveur took off for the final 1600m of the race, which she finished in 4:35.97.
The men's DMR team consisting of redshirt junior Joe Murphy, freshman Zubin Muncherji, redshirt freshman Teddy Browning and redshirt sophomore Kyle Mau finished seventh overall with the time 9:35.17.
Murphy started the race, running the 1200m leg in 2:57.39. He handed to Muncherji for the 400m. He made it around the track twice with the time of 48.28 and passed the baton to Browning. The redshirt freshman finished his 800m leg in 1:49.23 and handed off to Mau to eighth place. Mau remained in eighth for the majority of his 1600m leg and closed out the race in 4:00.28, earning a seventh place finish for the Hoosiers.
Senior Daniel Kuhn ran the fastest qualifying time and a season best time of 1:47.48 to earn himself a spot in the 800m finals Saturday evening at 6:30 pm EST. Kuhn finished sixth last year at the Championships.
Redshirt senior Andrew Miller and redshirt sophomore Kyle Mau will also compete Saturday. Miller will compete in the men's weight throw at 3:00 pm EST and Mau will run in the 3000m at 7:10 pm EST.
Miller set the school record earlier this year at the Alex Wilson Invitational with the mark of 22.10m (72' 6.25"), which earned him the tenth best mark in the NCAA.
Mau ran the eighth fastest time in the NCAA at the Iowa State Classic last month. He finished with the time of 7:50.85.
