BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team will host their final two home matches of the season this week as they take on Ohio State on Friday April 13 at 4:00 p.m. and Penn State on Sunday April 15 at 11:00 a.m.
The Hoosiers (15-8) most recently beat DePaul, 4-0, their last time out and have Big Ten wins against Minnesota and Iowa this season.
Caitlin Bernard leads the Hoosiers with 24 singles wins on the season, with 16 of those coming in dual match play.
This week the Hoosiers are recognizing senior manager Jack Carney and senior student-athlete Xiwei Cai. The coaching staff had the following to say about Carney and Cai.
"Jack has been an invaluable member of our team and we are so grateful for Jack's unwavering commitment to our program during his two seasons. He is irreplaceable. Jack is a great worker and a better person. He will be highly successful and will be greatly missed."
"We are glad Xiwei chose to spend her final collegiate season at Indiana. Watching Xiwei open up and grow closer with our team was one of our personal highlights from this season. Xiwei also delivered us a great 4-3 clinching win over Iowa, which is a memory we all will always share."
The Buckeyes come into the match with an overall record of 10-6 and 4-3 mark in conference play. Their squad features three ranked players in the latest ITA national rankings. The Nittany Lions are 7-11 on the season and 2-5 in Big Ten matches. Last year the Hoosiers beat Penn State on the road, 6-1, in their final match of the regular season.
