
Hoosiers Set Thirteen Personal Records on Day Two of the Tennessee Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – After two days of the Tennessee Relays the Indiana University track and field team has set a total of thirteen personal records.
Thursday, day one of the Tennessee Relays featured the hammer throws. Redshirt senior Andrew Miller finished fourth overall with the mark of 62.00m (203' 5"). On the women's side junior Nycia Ford also took fourth with the mark of 59.07m (193' 9") and freshman Princess Brinkley made her outdoor season debut and finished with the mark of 48.95m (160' 7").
In the field Friday afternoon sophomore Khayla Dawson brought home the gold when she launched the shot put 16.94m (55' 7"), which is a new personal record. Dawson now has the eighth best mark in the nation and the fourth best mark in school history. Junior Aaliyah Armstead earned the eighth best mark in school history and tied for the 18th best mark in the nation when she jumped a new personal record of 6.21m (20' 4.5") in the women's long jump.
Junior Jeyland Valentin started the Hoosiers off on the track Friday afternoon by winning the third heat of the 400m hurdles with the time of 1:00.80, which earned her a bronze. On the men's side sophomore William Session set a personal record when he finished fifth overall with the time of 52.29. Session went on to bring home the gold in the 110m hurdles when he ran a personal best time of 13.75, which ties him for the tenth best mark in the nation. Freshman Zykeria Williams also ran a personal record in the 100m hurdles when she finished 13.55, earning a ninth place finish.
In the sprints junior Treyton Harris ran the fastest 200m of the day for the Hoosiers and set a personal record when he finished ninth overall with the time of 21.18. Freshman Isaiah Ware (22.14) and freshman Zubin Muncherji (22.47) also set personal records in the 200m. On the women's side freshman Natalie Price ran the eighth fastest time in school history and ran a personal best time of 23.70. Sophomore Megan Grabowski was the second Hoosier to cross the finish line in 24.27, just short of her personal best.
Senior Daniel Kuhn brought home silver and ran a season best time of 1:48.20 in the men's 800m, which is the 11th fastest time in the nation. Sophomore Cooper Williams earned the No. 12 spot in the nation when he ran a personal best time of 1:48.20 to earn bronze. Redshirt junior Joe Murphy (1:52.23) and redshirt freshman Teddy Browning (1:54.84) closed out the race for the Hoosiers.
Redshirt junior Katherine Receveur ran a personal best time, ran the second fastest time in school history, earned the No. 6 spot in the nation, and brought home silver in the 1,500m when she crossed the finish line in 4:16.19. The current school record is 4:14.33, which was set in 1987 by Colette Goudreau. On the men's side redshirt freshman finished finished second overall with the time of 3:45.80.
The final track event of the night feature redshirt freshman Lexa Barrott and former Big Ten Champion and IU alumni (2011) Sarah Pease in the 5,000m. Pease earned the gold with the time of 16:42.87. Barrott was the second collegiate athlete to finish and third overall with the time of 17:07.36.
The third and final day of the Tennessee Relays will feature all relays on the track and eight Hoosiers in the field. The field events will begin at 11:00 am ET with the women's discus featuring Khayla Dawson. The track events are scheduled to start at 12:00 pm ET with the women's 4x200m relays.
