No. 8 Indiana Falls to Ohio State, 5-4

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Indiana baseball (29-7, 7-3) led 4-0, but was unable to hold on as the Ohio State Buckeyes (26-11, 7-4) took down the Hoosiers by a score of 5-4 on Saturday to even the series.
The Hoosiers got seven hits on the afternoon, including a three-hit effort form sophomore Scotty Bradley and two hits from junior Logan Kaletha. Sophomore Cam Beauchamp started on the mound for Indiana and allowed two earned runs in 3.2 innings. Freshman Grant Sloan was strong in relief, going 2.1 innings and allowing one hit.
With one away in the second, Gorski drove a triple down the right field line to score Bradley, who pushed a single through the right side. From there, Indiana added three more runs.
An error on the Buckeye's catcher granted Gorski to touch home, making the Hoosiers' lead 2-0. A sacrifice bunt from freshman Justin Walker and RBI single from sophomore Jeremy Houston scored the game's third run when Crail came around to score.
With two on, Indiana was able to spin two free passes into its fourth run of the frame. Junior Matt Lloyd took a walk, while Sowers was hit by a pitch, which scored Houston from third.
Ohio State responded with two runs in the bottom of the second with the help of two doubles. From there, runs in both the third and fourth inning tied the game, before the Buckeyes pulled ahead in the seventh with its third one-run inning. Noah McGowan turned on a on offering from freshman Connor Manous, a solo home run, which proved to be the difference.
Indiana and Ohio State will face off in the rubber game at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday.
