WESTFIELD, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer closed out its spring slate Saturday night at Grand Park, falling to Notre Dame, 2-0.
The Hoosiers threatened early, getting a few great looks in the first 20 minutes, including a ball in from redshirt junior Mykayla Brown in the 19th minute. Brown split the defenders to serve it into the box, with junior Maya Piper's shot going just wide.
Notre Dame took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute and would take that advantage into the halftime break.
Freshman goalkeeper Bethany Kopel was tested early in the second half, recording three saves in the first 12 minutes of action.
IU's best look to equalize came on a header from freshman Hanna Németh off a corner in the 66th minute, but it was saved by the Notre Dame keeper.
The Fighting Irish added on an insurance goal in the 72nd minute to come away with the 2-0 victory.
