Hoosiers Draw with Evansville, 1-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer continued its spring slate on Friday night, playing Evansville to a 1-1 draw at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

Junior Abby Allen scored the equalizer for the Hoosiers in the 77^th minute as freshman Melanie Forbes used impressive footwork down the right flank to get free from the defender and send the ball in to her.

The Purple Aces struck first in the 20^th minute as Evansville picked up a loose ball in traffic and slotted it past IU freshman goalkeeper Bethany Kopel to take a 1-0 lead.

Indiana continued to press late to break the 1-1 tie, including a terrific look by Allen that just knocked off the left post in the 88^th minute.

The teams also played a 10-minute overtime period but did not count it towards the game's outcome.

IU will return to action next Saturday as the Hoosiers travel to Bowling Green, Ky. There, Indiana will face off against Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State.
