Indiana Picks Up Eight All-Big Ten Honors

OMAHA, Neb. – Indiana baseball picked up eight All-Big Ten honors, the league office announced on Tuesday. The Hoosiers had three first team honorees, sophomore Matt Gorski, junior Matt Lloyd, and junior Jonathan Stiever, the most since 2014.
Junior Pauly Milto earned second team All-Conference honors while sophomore Scotty Bradley earned a spot on the second team as well. Senior Logan Sowers and junior Luke Miller picked up third team recognition, while Drew Ashley earned a spot on the all-freshman team.
Senior left-handed relief pitcher B.J. Sabol earned the team's sportsmanhip award.
After earning freshman All-Big Ten honors in 2017, Gorski has had a breakout campaign in 2018. He paces the team in batting average (.370), hits (71), doubles (13), triples (3), total bases (111) and stolen bases (19). His .370 batting average is good for sixth in the conference (54th nationally) and he is also sixth in hits, seventh in stolen bases and 10th in slugging percentage (.578).
Lloyd earns first team honors as a utility player. The Canada-native has spent the 2018 season playing second base and first base, while also serving as the team's closer. His six saves are good for sixth in the conference. Offensively, he is first on the team in RBI (37) and third in hits (59) and home runs (8).
Stiever picks up his first All-Big Ten honor. Serving as the Friday night starter for the Hoosiers, the junior leads all Big Ten pitches in strikeouts with 94. He is currently sixth in school history for single season strikeouts, and trails the leaders, Eric Arnett (109 in 2009) and Vernon Wilshere (109 in 2934) by 15. He additionally leads the conference in innings (90.2).
Bradley, a 2016 all-freshman team honoree, earned his spot on the second team this season after hitting at a .368 clip in conference games only, good for sixth in the league. He is additionally sixth in on base percentage (.469) and seventh in slugging percentage (.632).
