Brown, Davidson and Piper Named to B1G Preseason Honors List

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference office announced its 2018 Women's Soccer Preseason Honors List on Monday, including Indiana redshirt senior Mykayla Brown, senior Maya Piper and junior Chandra Davidson.
It marks the second straight season Brown has made the list. The forward is the active team leader in goals scored with 12. The Indianapolis native and two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection netted three goals in 2017 while adding a career-high four assists – three of which were on game-winning goals.
Piper is coming off a career year as the Midland, Mich. native led the Hoosiers in points last season with 16, including scoring a career-high seven goals. The forward, who netted the gamewinner last year against No. 23 SMU, has played in 58 career games for the Hoosiers, earning 37 starts. Piper is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten pick and was named CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-District last season.
Davidson was second behind Piper last season with six goals, three of which were gamewinners, and 14 total points. The Binbrook, Ontario native and 2017 Academic All-Big Ten selection started all 19 games last season and has made 33 starts in her first two seasons in Cream and Crimson.
The Hoosiers begin the 2018 season this Friday by playing host to Wake Forest at 7:30 p.m. The game is part of the annual Hoosier Challenge Cup tournament as IU will wrap up the weekend by playing Miami (Ohio) on Sunday. Admission to all home games is free of charge.
