
Indiana Women’s Basketball Announces 2018-19 Schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Basketball announced its entire 2018-19 schedule on Tuesday. The 2018 WNIT champions schedule highlights include 15 home dates, a non-conference trip to Puerto Rico and games against 14 teams that advanced to the postseason last year.
"Our schedule for the 2018-19 season is once again designed to be competitive and we're really looking forward to the challenge it presents," IU head coach Teri Moren said. "We've scheduled some difficult road games while providing an exciting home slate for our dedicated fans."
Indiana will play its lone exhibition of the season on Friday, Nov. 2 against Northwood, which will be free admission for all fans. The regular season officially kicks off on Nov. 7 when IU faces a familiar foe as Milwaukee returns to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers and Panthers met in the second round of the 2018 WNIT, a 74-54 win for IU. They then hit the road for a meeting at Oakland (Nov. 11) followed by a week break before hosting a three game homestand ensues over the Thanksgiving holiday with North Florida (Nov. 18), Florida (Nov. 21) and Northern Illinois (Nov. 25).
IU will then travel to Wake Forest for the previously announced matchup in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge (Nov. 28). The Hoosiers will head west to Los Angeles to face UCLA on Dec. 2, facing a Bruin team who advanced to the Elite Eight in 2017-18. They return home for an in-state contests with Butler (Dec. 5) and against Missouri State (Dec. 9). The Hoosiers will also take part in the Puerto Rico Classic, also previously announced, at Mario Morales Coliseum in Guaynabo against Loyola Marymount (Dec. 19), Grambling State (Dec. 20) and South Dakota (Dec. 21) to conclude non-conference play.
Big Ten play opens up on Friday, Dec. 28 when IU travels to Illinois and will spend New Year's Eve at home by hosting Penn State. The Michigan State Spartans come to town on Jan. 6 before IU plays three of the next four on the road with trips to Ohio State (Jan. 10) and Wisconsin (Jan. 13). A brief return home follows on Jan. 16 against Northwestern before the first meeting against Purdue in West Lafayette on Jan. 20.
The Hoosiers will host Michigan (Jan. 24) and Maryland (Jan. 27) before hitting the road for two more at Rutgers (Jan. 31) and Nebraska (Feb. 3). Minnesota visits Bloomington (Feb. 6) while Indiana has two meetings in Michigan with the Spartans (Feb. 11) and the Wolverines (Feb. 14). The regular season begins to wind down with home contests against Rutgers (Feb. 18) and Iowa (Feb. 21) while splitting the final pair of games at Northwestern (Feb. 26) and the regular season finale against Purdue at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall (Mar. 3).
